Mrs. Mildred Mathes' foundation was rooted in serving the Lord and others. God gave "Mrs. Mil" a vision for the community that led her to create and be the founder of Ladies in Action Service League (LIA) on December 7, 1987.
LIA's purpose is to promote instructional, social and civic growth; setting positive examples that exemplifies integrity, honesty, moral principles and enthusiasm. LIA has provided scholarships to hundreds of young men and women. Mrs. Mathes coordinated numerous activities and fundraisers for youth such as Annual Scholarship Banquets, Debutante and Beautillion balls, Youth Talent & Fashion Shows, Youth Trips, Mother & Daughters Banquets, Senior Fashion Shows and numerous others to provide minority students opportunities to grow as well as have access to higher education. 2019 marks 31 years of executing the vision the Lord gave Mrs. Mildred Mathes. Her life is an example of giving to others selflessly to afford them opportunities for excellence.
Mrs. Mildred found rest from her phenomenal labor in 2018, but her life of giving and legacy of love lives on through the members of Ladies in Action. Join us in making a positive difference in the lives of youth! If you would to tithe your finances, time, talent, experience or resources to impact youth and young adults, please contact us!
